Al Anood Al Obaidly: Writings on East-East

East-East: An Exhibition refers to East-East: UAE meets Japan, an exhibition held at NYU Abu Dhabi's Project Space, Abu Dhabi and which traveled later to Chika Space, Dubai. Al Anood Al Obaidly (b. 1980, Abu Dhabi) is an artist from Abu Dhabi and is a 2013 graduate of the College of Arts and Creative Enterprises at Zayed University, where she graduated with a BA in Visual Arts. She works with mixed media and found materials, exploring outdoor spaces in the Al Bahia area of Abu Dhabi. Her most recent exhibitions include ‘Turning Point’ which took place at Tashkeel, Dubai in 2014. In the same year, she was awarded the prestigious Sheikha Salama Artist in Residence Award, which allowed her to work for one year with visiting faculty from the Rhode Island School of Design. She was one of the four chosen artist for the first volume of the Japanese-Emirati 'East-East' exhibition series which debuted at Chika Space, Dubai in 2016.
